Welcome To Mulberry Community Project
To the powers that be in Blackpool.
I was speaking to a police officer yesterday and she asked what Mulberry did as she knew nothing about it. I explained how we took people who have been in detox/rehab/prison etc and had just managed to stop using their substance of choice and wanted help and support to remain abstinent. This police officer saw that there was a massive gap in the Blackpool society that Mulberry was trying to fill and was impressed that we had been doing it for 6 years already. Then this police officer heard about all the success we had had and just how many of our ex residents were now working full time and are still abstinent and are living the dream and she was impressed. If this police officer could see there was a gap and Mulberry are now working in that gap why cannot people in authority also see it and offer their support and help towards something that is not just saving lives but also turning round lives and making people into productive members of society. Answers on a postcard please. We have had 1 failed project in Blackpool that was trying to do what Mulberry does and it has cost a fortune, somewhere around £1.5 mill and yet the project that actually works they chose not to support.

Mulberry Community Project is an independant non-commissioned Supported Housing Project which provides abstinent based recovery housing for those in recovery from alcohol/drug misuse by providing secure housing, support and encouragement. We believe that not only is recovery possible but with the correct support is also achievable by those who really want it. We are not about Treatment but we are about Recovery.
We currently have 7 male houses and 1 specialised female property.
WE CURRENTLY HAVE 2 FEMALE VACANCIES AND 2 MALE VACANCIES ALTHOUGH WE HAVE LOTS OF REFERRALS AT THE MOMENT.
